ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Department of Asian Languages and Literature, University of Washington, Seattle, beginning Autumn, 2016. A tenure-track appointment is intended in the area of Chinese linguistics, with a specialization in second language acquisition or a related subfield. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or domestic or foreign equivalent degree by the date of appointment. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The position entails a 9-month service period. Duties include serving as Chinese Language Program Coordinator with overall responsibility for curricular, administrative, and staffing issues in the Department’s modern Chinese language program.
Teaching duties may include courses in modern Chinese language at any level, in the applicant’s specific area(s) of research specialization, and in other areas of Chinese linguistics.
