Full-Time Temporary - Assistant Professor of Chinese at Framingham State University

Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 
Framingham State University invites applications for a Full-time, temporary, Visiting Lecturer position in Chinese to begin September 2017. This position offers a semester appointment and faculty rank is contingent upon qualifications.

Some of the courses to be covered during the Fall 2017 semester are:

  • CHIN 101 Elementary Chinese I, Mondays/Wednesdays 2:30-4:20
  • CHIN 102 Elementary Chinese II Monday and Wednesdays 12:30-:1:20 and Th: 12:30-2:20
  • CHIN 118 Chinese Writing System (English) MWRF 10:30-11:20
  • CHIN 186 Through the Dragon's Eyes: Modern China's Cultures and Traditions (English) MWRF 11:30-12:20

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

The candidate/s should hold a Ph.D in Chinese or related field, show evidence of effective teaching at the University level, ability of teaching distance learning, and/or cultural classes.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

(i) Have native or near-native proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English;(ii) at least two years of college teaching experience in the U.S.

This is a full-time, temporary, benefits-eligible position in the MSCA bargaining unit.
